<\/p>\nThe fifth edition of the Milanese tasting event, which brought together, at Palazzo del Ghiaccio, Italian and international companies from the food, wine, and spirits sectors, has concluded with great success.<\/b><\/p>\n
Milan, May 21, 2024<\/b> \u2013 Sponsored by the Municipality of Milan, Best Wine Stars<\/b> welcomed over 6000 visitors<\/b>, including 45%<\/b> buyers and 20%<\/b> journalists. From May 18th to May 20th<\/b>, attendees had the opportunity to explore over 1200 labels<\/b> and participate in various educational sessions held during the three days of Best Wine Stars.<\/b><\/p>\n
Participating companies engaged with approximately 3900 industry professionals<\/b>, both Italian and foreign, representing 15 countries: press, buyers, distributors, importers, wine merchants, restaurateurs, as well as numerous enthusiasts<\/b>, reaffirming the widespread interest among the general public.<\/p>\n
Enzo Carbone, Founder of Prodes Italia, the company behind Best Wine Stars, stated: \u201cWe are extremely pleased with the outcome of the three-day event, thanks in part to the extensive participation of industry professionals. Throughout the event\u2019s three days, various topics related to the world of wine and spirits were explored through numerous meetings, presenting participants with different production realities and their products, accompanied by typical baked goods from the Love Gargano<\/b> company.<\/p>\n
Also, the success of masterclasses <\/b>and talks<\/b> was once again confirmed, with full attendance in the Piranesi Hall<\/b> during all three days of the event. Fabio Bacchi<\/b>, Founder of BarTales and Roma Bar Show<\/i>; Adua Villa<\/b>, Wine Writer and Digital Entrepreneur<\/i>; Valentina Vercelli<\/b>, Professional Journalist for La Cucina Italiana, Cond\u00e9 Nast Traveller, Slowine, and Civilt\u00e0 del Bere<\/i>; Francesco Quarna<\/b>, Radio DEEJAY Speaker and Winemaker<\/i>; Stefania Vinciguerra<\/b>, Editor-in-Chief of DoctorWine<\/i>; Mattia Asperti<\/b>, Sommelier and Professional Taster, Creator of the Il Sommelier Divino community<\/i>; and Giambattista Marchetto<\/b>, Wine Journalist and Director of Vinonews24<\/i>, intervened during the various educational moments to recount the history and uniqueness of the various wine and spirits companies presented.<\/p>\n

Also highly appreciated was this year\u2019s novelty, the BWS Village<\/b>, an elegant and comfortable area located on the Balcony of Palazzo Del Ghiaccio and enriched with the extraordinary creations of Non di Solo Legno<\/b>, dedicated to the press and industry operators. Here, attendees could admire some of the labels from the companies present in the parterre.<\/p>\n
Sunday, May 19th<\/b>, began with the Best Wine Stars Awards<\/b> ceremony. Hosted by entrepreneur, sommelier, and wine writer Adua Villa<\/b>, the ceremony saw the presence of exhibiting companies, as well as numerous journalists and restaurateurs.<\/p>\n
The Best Red Wine<\/b> award was won by Albino Armani Viticoltori Dal 1607 <\/b>for their label Egle Valpolicella DOC Classico Superiore 2022<\/b>, for identifying and investing in the highest hills of Valpolicella Classica, in Marano, where the vineyards occupy the last strip of cultivable land before the extreme limit of the mountain. Cantine Mastrangelo<\/b> won the Best White Wine award with the label Margher\u00ec Matera Greco DOC 2021<\/b>, a wine that surprised with its freshness and evolving closure given by its sweeter and softer notes, not resulting from a passage in wood but rather the fruit of a slow evolution. The Best Ros\u00e9 Wine<\/b> award was assigned to Ch\u00e2teau de Saint-Martin<\/b>, represented in Italy by Vini di Francia<\/b>, for the label Eternelle Favorite Cru Classe 2023, Cotes De Provence AOC<\/b>, which conquered everyone for its extreme refinement and elegance, and for the typical Provencal pink color. Raineri Franciacorta<\/b> was recognized with the Best Sparkling Wine<\/b> award for their Blanc de Blancs produced with pure Chardonnay, which rests for 30 months on the lees, Raineri Franciacorta DOCG Sat\u00e8n 2020<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Selected by Adua Villa<\/b> were also the winners of the Best Vinum Innovation, Best Hospitality Project, <\/b>and Best Green Project <\/b>awards. The Resveratrolo aumentato<\/b> project by Le Vigne di Isabella e Cecilia<\/b> won the Best Vinum Innovation<\/b> award. Colle Delle 100 Bottiglie S.S. Societa\u2019 Agricola<\/b> was awarded the Best Green Project <\/b>for the landscape recovery of two historic Lucchese crus (Maolina and Segale) and for the rescue and enhancement of ancient cultivars. Finally, the Best Hospitality<\/b> Project<\/b> award was won by Corte San Ruffillo<\/b>, for reinterpreting traditional hospitality activities in a contemporary and attractive key by investing in service quality and aesthetics.<\/p>\n
Expert Fabio Bacchi<\/b>, on the other hand, was tasked with awarding the Best Herbal Liqueurs <\/b>and Best Spirits<\/b> prizes. In particular, Amaro Amaravigghia 2024<\/b> by the Sicilian company Maravigghia Srl<\/b> won the Best Herbal Liqueurs<\/b> prize. Best Spirit<\/b> was won by Saint Bernard Distillery Srl<\/b> with their Gin Alpine 2023<\/b>, thanks to its testimony of ancient craftsmanship.<\/p>\n
Stefania Conti<\/b>, journalist for StarZ N TV<\/b>, a program broadcast on Sky Italia<\/b>, awarded Ca\u2019 Boschi srl for the Best Logo<\/b> and The Sea is Life Poseidon Gin<\/b> with the Best Label<\/b> prize. The Landini Award<\/b>, presented by Filippo Pappagallo, Sales Area Manager of the Agro Tractors Group, was assigned to Bulfon<\/b>.<\/p>\n

For this edition, two other important awards were also assigned: Best Buyer Selection<\/b> and MILANO WINE EXPLORER \u2013 Best Wine Stars Tips<\/b>. The latter recognition was awarded to Milanese and Lombard entities distinguished by their wine and spirits proposals: Metodo Froma, Armonia Restaurant & Bar, Ciz Cantina e Cucina, Cocciuto, Langosteria, La cantina di Manuela, Al Cortile, Cantina Piemontese, Bicer\u00ecn Milano, drinc. Group, Cantine MILANO \u2013 WINE & RESTAURANT, Cantine Isola dal 1896, and The Doping Bar \u2013 Aethos Milan<\/b>.<\/p>\n
John Azucena<\/b>, Wine Importer ID Beverage & Wine Distributor PW Distributors NY; <\/i>Paola Longo<\/b>, owner of Enoteca Longo<\/i>; and Niccol\u00f2 Giancarlo Cavrioli<\/b>, Wine Specialist Partesa<\/i>, instead awarded the Best Buyer Selection<\/b> prize, special mentions dedicated to those labels they found most interesting for their markets. The award went to Aljano<\/b>, Casal Dell\u2019Arco \u2013 1932<\/b>, Azienda Agricola Col Par\u00e8<\/b>, Cantina Cerbero<\/b> and Cantina La Lignite<\/b>, assigned by John Azucena<\/b>. Niccol\u00f2 Giancarlo Cavrioli, on the other hand, honored Attanasio Giuseppe<\/b>, Cantina Colle Mora<\/b>, Cantina Ferrari<\/b>, Colesel<\/b>, and Tenuta di Artimino<\/b>. Finally, Tenuta Massanova<\/b> was selected by Paola Longo.<\/p>\n
Finally, this year too, Best Wine Stars went beyond the confines of Palazzo del Ghiaccio<\/b> with a Best Wine Stars Business Dinner<\/b>. The dinner, organized at the Armonia Restaurant & Bar<\/b>, allowed selected guests to discover more closely the excellences of the companies Arche\u2019 srl, Borgoverde Societ\u00e0 Agricola, Champagne Jarry Heritage<\/b>, Feudo del Balio, Le Vigne di Isabella e Cecilia<\/b>, and Sensi Vini<\/b> \u2013 Fattoria di Calappiano<\/b>, paired with dishes specifically designed for each label.<\/p>\n
